It was always a goal of mine to get a photo I took published in a magazine. I first entered a contest in Wildbird magazine in 2010. I didn't ever hear anything back & when the contest results were shown I hadn't won anything. Then in the Sept/Oct 2011 issue of Wildbird came out, there was one of my Bald Eagle photos in the Wandering Eye section. I was really excited about it & had accomplished my goal. Then I had another goal to get a song bird photo published. By this time I started submitting more pics & in March 2012 got an email from Birdwatching magazine saying they were using a shot I took of a Prairie Warbler in the Your View section in their June 2011 issue. Now I was really psyched. The next month came & with it a huge surprise. The July/Aug 2012 issue of Wildbird used one of my Robins in my waterfall shot in the Wandering Eye section & again in a promo for the same section earlier in the magazine. Next I got another email from Birdwatching saying they were using another of my Robin shots in their Your View section in the August 2012 issue. Then When I got the magazine I saw they also used it on the Table of Contents page. Another awesome thing then happened. I ended up getting 3rd place in Wildbird's annual photo contest in the backyard category. The picture of an Eastern Screech Owl was published in the Sept/Oct 2012 issue. My next picture to be published came in the October 2012 issue of Birdwatching magazine. It was of a Red-Bellied Woodpecker from my backyard in the Your View section. It was a full page which I was really trying for. My next photo to be published was in the February 2014 issue of Birdwatching also in the Your View section. It was a shot of a Northern Harrier I took in Pine Island, NY. Got Photo of the Week for March 10 on Birdwatching magazines website with this Northern Harrier picture. I got an honorable mention ribbon at the NJ State Fair with this shot of a fox in August 2014. I have a picture in the June 2016 issue of Birdwatching of an Eastern Towhee I shot in DWGNRA. It's in the Your View section. Just got another picture published in the April 2017 issue of Birdwatching magazine of a Short-eared Owl I shot close by. It's in the Your View section. I just got another photo published in the June 2018 issue of Birdwatching magazine of an Indigo Bunting. It's in the Your View section. I got second & third place in the adult amateur division. Second was this Bald Eagle and third was this Barred Owl. I just got another picture published in the June 2019 issue of Birdwatching magazine of a Belted Kingfisher. It's in the Your View section. I finally got a cover shot on the NJ Fish & Game 2019 Digest. Here it is!
